Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving Break!
I spent the weekend catching up on some Glee episodes (which was great!) and came across the new actor Darren Criss, who plays an openly gay character. After his rendition of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E46BhMIRujI), I pretty much thought he was amazing. However, I did not realize that he is...
North Korea bombs South Korea →
With several brothers and friends currently fulfilling military duties in South Korea, it’s agonizing for all of us in Lambda to think that this may only be the beginning.
Although I’m not Korean, I still know how painful it can be to fear for our brothers and sisters across the sea and feel helpless. My heart goes out to the Korean community at Penn.
It must be tough right now to...

Pambansang Kamao
Did anyone see Pacquiao’s fight versus Margarito last Saturday? It’s pretty much the only time that I do watch boxing, but it’s totally worth it. Friends of mine in the Philippines told me the streets were deserted (as usual). While he didn’t get a knock-out (which I called… 17lb difference is too difficult to overcome), I still think that was his best fight. ...
Just declared war with New Board.
Bring it.

Celebrate, for today we shall be companions!
And who might you be?
I am a fellow, interested in knowing who you are.
Then make your leave; I am but a special person.
Ah but you are quite the exciting one for me.
How strange of you to say. But I see no harm; for now we shall walk together.
This may not be the right path for me.
What troubles you?
I am insecure. It is only I who walks this road,...
Vocabulary
ASAM has come up quite a bit recently - specifically at the Summit and around elections. Unfortunately, many of us have mistakenly promoted its status when it comes up in conversations - and it’s worth talking about because the mistake erases an important struggle for support.
ASAM is a program - not a department.
(More after the jump)
Why is the vocabulary so important? Because...
This weekend I was walking around some other people from the Pan-Asian Dance Troupe, going to practice, carrying some of our props. Some guys walked past and one of them said, “Hey, look at all those Asians…” –even though it was a really small (but really dumb) comment, it wouldn’t have upset me as much except he looked half-Asian himself.
But these comments aren’t...
Just got out of practice for the CSA Cultural Show. All I have to say is it’s going to be amazing and everyone should come! :) More details to come!

Response to "Too Asian"
Created by 2 McGill students in response to the previously posted “Too Asian?” article about kids who go wah-wah over Asians studying “too hard” (see: harder than them):
Asians Not Studying (gasp!)
